I was most pleased that they got they whole rehab situation out of the way and not spend the entire series there. The issue then becomes will he remain a miserable old bastard and if not how will that effect his particular diagnostic talents. BTW - did YOU know about all the Sherlock Holmes references? Such as he lives in apartment 221B? All these years and I never knew. :P
Oh love... you didn't get ANY of them? Not even the Holmes-Watson, House-Wilson one?
And I agree it will be interesting to see what they do now. Because if they DO go back to how he was before, I will feel completely sold out by that last episode. I think actually having him trying to change things will make for a far more interesting season than retreading the same old ground again.
